TEHRAN – A number of interested Iranian theater actors have been selected to attend workshops at the Intercultural Festival Laboratory of Theater Practices, which be held in Fara Sabina, near Rome in Italy from June 22 to July 3.

Several other artists are coming from Japan, India, Denmark, U.S and Italy, and will give the festival their own contribution through sharing their personal theatrical experiences, organizers have announced on the website.

Organized by Teatro Potlach, the festival is now in its 16th edition, hosting twelve days of workshops, shows and dialogues about the creative exchanges between different cultures.

Claudio De Maglio from Italy will be holding the workshop “Masks and Characters in Commedia dell’Arte” for three days on June 22, 23 and 24. 
 
A workshop on “Practical Training on Language Development" will be given by Eugenio Barba and Julia Varley from Denmark from June 24 to 26.

Keiin Yoshimura from Japan will also be holding a workshop on “Kamigata-mai Dance in the Japanese Tradition” from June 26 to 29.
 
A workshop on “Song, Dance and Narrative Techniques in the Indian Baul Tradition” will be given by Parvathy Baul from India from June 29 to July 3.

Iranian director Kiumars Moradi, the executive and artistic director of the U.S. based Hope Theater Company will also be cooperating with several other Italian and American stage directors and designers including Pino Di Buduo and Agnese Giglia and James Jordan and Cristopher Shorr in the workshop “The Urban Environment Transformed by Art”, which will end with the show “Invisible Cities”.
